Many residential and business customers currently use dial-up modems to access the Internet. Such modems are limited in speed to 28,800 bits per second, and typically operate much slower. At such low rates, the time taken to download graphics and video is intolerable, and many users are demanding higher speed access. High-speed wired solutions incur expensive monthly charges which can be in excess of $300 per month.

The Wuta Web Plus Wireless Solution !

High-speed internet access to suburban customers can be provided using the Wuta Plus Wireless Ethernet Transceiver. A central base station is set up in a neighborhood and this is used to provide wireless access to a number of customers at speeds approaching 1.5 million bits per second (1.5 Mb/s). One base station would serve customers in a two kilometer radius using spread-spectrum technology. This distance can be extended to six kilometers for line-of-site links in low-interference areas (e.g. rural areas).
