The construction and exploration industries are continually establishing and relocating temporary field offices. In the oil exploration business, one wellsite might have as many as half a dozen shacks which, along with the rig, often need a phone and fax for communication. Phone line cabling between the shacks and the rig is time consuming and prone to damage during set-up and tear down.

A wireless phone line can be established on a construction site using Wuta Web Plus modems. A touch tone phone plugs into an interface box which in turn plugs into a Wuta Web modem. A second modem plugs into a wall jack or PABX several kilometers away. If desired, data can be transmitted through the wireless phone link, even at the same time a call is being made.
