Range Testing the Wuta Web Wireless
Engineers have comprehensively tested the performance of the Wuta Web Plus wireless bridge at a test range about 25 km west of Calgary. The performance of the bridge was tested at three locations across the Bow Valley at distances of 3.0 km, 5.5 km and 9.5 km.
Using the radio in "link test" mode (which is also available to customers) it is possible to continuously transmit a stream of random-like data from one unit and monitor the bit-error rate at the second unit. The bit-error rate shown is based on the number of errors detected after 100 million bits have been received. In "link test" mode the receiver can also monitor the averaged received power level.
